November Airfield News....
Autumn Shakespeare Run Results
Over 900 runners braved the elements today, Saturday, at Long Marston Airfield, running between 5km and a full marathon. Those doing the shorter distances got the best of the weather, but the rain stopped for the end of the marathon which was won by Ian Berry of Winchester and District AC in a time of 2:52:25. Sarah Davis-Foxon of Northampton Road Runners was the fastest female in 3:07:44 which was good enough for 5th overall. The half marathon was won by Jonathan Tipper in 1:13:08 with Rachel Wood of Blackburn Harriers the first woman home in 1:26:54. Michael Wilesmith from Guernsey won the 10km in 34:05 with Colette Curley the first woman in 37:10 and 4th overall. The 5km was won by Chris Kryzwiec of Burton Runners with a time of 17:36, and Kate Kryzwiec of Burton Runners was the fastest woman in 20:42. This event would not have been possible without our wonderful band of volunteers, many of whom were on the course all day, so a huge thank you to them.
